United States. Our survey asks for specific information

Each year, HISPANIC Magazine lists 100 of the fastest-growing
Latino businesses as part of our Entrepreneur 100 package.
This year's Hispanic Entrepreneur 100 is especially significant
because of the recent U.S. Census figures showing Latinos
are about to become the largest minority group in the United
States.

much of corporate America has been stepping up efforts to
recruit Hispanic professionals, many Latinos have opted
to start their own businesses. Hispanic-owned companies
comprise almost 40 percent of all minority-owned firms in
the United States, and the number of Hispanic-owned businesses
between 1992 and 1997 increased by 81 percent.

contracts. These large companies see the benefits of doing
business with an ever-increasing number of Hispanic-owned
enterprises, which generate an estimated $400 million in
annual revenues.
