Most of the nation’s Hispanics make the Southwest their home. Seven of the 10 cities chosen for our annual list lie between Los Angeles and Houston, the region some call “Mexamerica.”

You can’t ignore Latinos in the state of Georgia today. Hispanic-owned businesses generate $1.3 billion in sales. Hispanic consumers have an estimated $4 billion in buying power. And the Latino population has swelled 300 percent over the last decade to 435,000, 5 percent of the state’s people, according to the 2000 Census.
