Felipe
Larcada was recently named state manager
for Regions Morgan Keegan Trust, part of the Regions
Financial group. His responsibilities will now include
expanding trust services to the Central Florida area,
including Bradenton, Orlando, Ormond Beach and Tampa.
Larcada, who has more than 25 years of experience
in the industry, will continue to supervise the daily
operations of the Coral Gables and Weston branches
of the Union Planters Trust offices. Prior to joining
Regions Financial in 2002, he held several senior-level
positions, including stints at Northern Trust, Mellon
Bank and Republic National Bank of New York. Morgan
Keegan is one of the largest full-service brokerage
and investment banking firms in the South.
Rick’s
Cabinet Tree owner Rick Blanco received
the 2004 Florida’s Best Award for Best Kitchen
in the $750,000-$1.5 million price range. The certified
kitchen designer has also won many other awards from
the Florida Builders Association for designs in homes
ranging from $300,000 to $5 million. Blanco has been
in the woodworking business since he arrived in Miami
in the 1960s, when he began working at his uncle’s
cabinet-making factory. In 1991, he opened Rick’s
Cabinet Tree, specializing in high-end kitchen designs.
He became a certified kitchen designer in 1997, making
him one of only 64 CKD in Florida.
The
Titan Network named Ron Ramos its
new vice president of advertising. With degrees from
New York Institute of Technology, Parsons School of
Design and InterAmerican University and 15 years of
advertising experience, Ramos will lead Titan’s
new project to strengthen its outreach to the Hispanic
community. Before joining Titan, Ramos served as vice
president and director of creative services for Miramar
Communications Group. He also held different positions
at Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi and
Foote, Cone & Belding. His long list of well-known
clients includes Samsung, 3M, The Miami Heat, Hewlett-Packard,
Motorola, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Budweiser, Huggies,
Wendy’s and Procter & Gamble.
The
Oil Conservation Division of the New Mexico Energy,
Minerals and Natural Resources Department appointed
José Daniel Sánchez
to enforcement and compliance manager. His new job
responsibilities include supervising business procedures
and eliminating outdated practices. He also will aid
in the interpretation and enforcement of division
rules and permits. In addition to these duties, Sánchez
will reassess the status of the state’s functioning
oil and gas sites and check if these and inactive
sites meet environmental standards. Sánchez’s
previous posts include pipeline safety engineering
specialist and public utility engineer for the Public
Regulation Commission of the Resources Department.
A graduate of New Mexico State, he holds a bachelor
of science in mechanical engineering and an associate’s
degree in engineering technology.
Entravision
Communications Corporation named Eric Chávez
its new general manager and general sales manager.
Chávez will be in charge of overseeing the
sales aspect of Entravision’s Spanish-language
television and radio stations in the Yuma-El Centro
area in California. The stations under his supervision
are Univisión KVYE-TV Channel 7, TeleFutura
KAJB-TV Channel 54, as well as radio stations KSEH-FM
94.5, KMXX-FM 99.3 and KWST-AM 1430. Three years ago,
Chávez was a sales executive at an NBC affiliate
in Santa Barbara. He then joined Entravision as general
manager, where helped set a new sales record. Entravision
is the largest affiliate group of both Univisión
television network and its sister station TeleFutura.
Manuel
G. García was hired as the new business
development director at Lápiz Integrated Hispanic
Marketing. Mexican-born García received a bachelor’s
degree in business from Universidad Intercontinental
in Mexico. Beginning his career with Procter &
Gamble in Mexico, García has more than 16 years
of experience in the advertising industry. He has
managed accounts with top companies such as Hewlett
Packard, Kellogg’s, McDonald’s, Nintendo
and United Airlines. García entered the U.S.
market for the first time in 1995, when he landed
a job with MTV Latino. Recently, he headed the marketing
team for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Rhode
Island Governor Donald L. Carcieri nominated the state’s
first Hispanic judge. Rafael Ovalles,
a Dominican Republic native, was chosen from a list
of five finalists. He has been living in Rhode Island
since he was 10. Ovalles received a bachelor’s
degree in U.S. history from the University of Rhode
Island in 1986 and a law degree from Boston University
in 1990. For 14 years, he has been dealing with immigration,
workers’ compensation, criminal, family and
bankruptcy law. Rhode Island’s Hispanic population
grew considerably in the 1990s. |
