2010 susuki Kisashi

This year has been a sales disaster for Suzuki in America. Through August 2009 its sales were off more than 50 percent from 2008,. Suzuki is hoping to turn things around with the launch of its first all-wheel drive sport sedan, Kisashi. Loosely translated it means “something great is coming.” at first glance, it just may be. Pricing should begin in the $19,000 to $20,000 range with an on-sale date of December 1.

Digital Center
Technology junkies will appreciate the Bluetooth connectivity and the dedicated iPod connection that allows the device be controlled through the head unit.

Sound System
Kizashi can be upgraded with leather seating, three-stage heated front seats and a three-setting memory system. An eight-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system is available.

Choice Power
Power comes from a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder that can be mated to a six-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is an option.

Positive Protection
Eight airbags lead the array of safety equipment that also includes electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes.

High-end Appeal
A dual exhaust is an upscale touch that improves curb appeal and provides a rich note.

Autonomous Ride
Unlike many in this class, the suspension is fully independent with a multi-link setup rather than a torsion beam rear axle.

2010 kIA Forte Koup

Kia continues its barrage of new products with the two-door version the Forte. At 176.4 inches long, the Forte Koup is about five inches shorter than the Chevy Cruze. Kia offers it in two trim levels and two four-cylinder engines, each with its own manual or automatic transmission. Both engines deliver at least 31 mpg on the highway. The base price with delivery charge will be $17,290.

Roomy
Fitted for five, the interior is spacious with well-bolstered front sport seats.

Built for Speed
The Koup’s streamlined styling delivers a slippery 0.31 coefficient of drag.

Galloping Speed
Under the hood of the up-level SX is a 173-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a standard six-speed manual transmission.

Feet on the Ground
A low, wide stance helps the aerodynamics while adding to Koup’s sporty appearance.

Updated Offerings
All Forte Koups feature Bluetooth connectivity with voice-activated operation of cell phones and the audio system.

Audio Control
Redundant controls on the steering wheel operate the six-speaker audio system with satellite radio and a dedicated iPod input.
